On February 6, 2012, a fire broke out in Pyaungyi field and Pyaunglay field, 44 Kilo, in Phropphra township, southern Mae Sot, where many migrant workers from Burmawere heavily populated. All the houses were burnt down in due course. All the migrant workers were at works when the fire broke out. Therefore, they lost all their properties and residences. A child and two women were seriously injured, and about 200 people were left as homeless.
SAW had successfully managed to donate the foods, water, household necessities and the tools to build the toilets for the victims in 44 Kilo. SAW’s mobile medical clinic also was assisting the medical treatments for the victims there.
